Deb McNally – Founder and Executive Director
Deb McNally is a teacher and an educator with a deep passion for reading and literacy. She holds a BA in Elementary Education from the College of St. Benedict. After years of homeschooling her two sons, she began traveling as a volunteer teacher, working with organizations such as Common Hope, Global Volunteers, Peace House Africa, and Habitat for Humanity. It was Deb’s experience working with the children of Ghana that inspired her to begin this new venture.
Karen Steinberg is a wife and mother who has worked as a flight attendant both nationally and internationally for the past 35 years. Karen is passionate about humanitarian causes. She has volunteered in Ghana and Peru, where she taught English to young school children in small villages and in orphanages. Karen brings her love of rock & roll to the children she works with. A successful lesson is one where the children are dancing with her by the end of a long, hot day. At home in Atlanta, Karen and her three children have been involved in dog therapy visits to hospitals, worked with Habitat for Humanity, served for Hosea Feed the Hungry, and many others. One of Karen’s main goals in life is to instill in her children the importance of helping others.
